MIAMI (AP) - Giancarlo Stanton has become the first player to hit the Miami Marlins' home-run sculpture.
The Marlins slugger hit a pitch from San Francisco's Tim Lincecum into the base of the sculpture for a solo homer in the fourth inning of Friday's game. Giants center fielder Angel Pagan could only watch as the animated sculpture sprung into motion.
The home run was the 10th this month for Stanton, and his 11th of the season. The estimated distance was 409 feet.
