Some rock 'n' roll greats like Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi have been personally affected by the devastation wrought by Superstorm Sandy. But those current and former residents of the New Jersey shoreline aren't the only boldface names that felt Sandy's impact. Singer Cyndi Lauper revealed that she lost her uncle, 90-year-old Queens, N.Y., resident George Stathis, in the storm.

Stathis?was found dead in his Rockaway home five days after the storm; in all, Sandy killed 109 people in the US. At the Lenox Hill Autumn Ball benefiting storm victims on Monday, Lauper said, "I lost my Uncle George in the hurricane. He was old. He did not want to leave his house," The New York Post reports.?"I was in Chicago, and I called and said [to relatives], 'Why did you guys leave him?' and they just didn?t think it was going to get that bad." Lauper dedicated a performance of her hit song "Time after Time" to her uncle. ?

Lady Gaga donates $1 million to storm relief
